Title: "Hearts Ablaze For The Gospel Of Jesus Christ"
Passage: Luke 24:13-35
By: Justin Hoover
Date: 10/26/2008
Does your heart burn for the gospel of Jesus Christ? You might be surprised to learn from Luke 24:13-35 what kind of people God uses to spread His glory.
In this passage we see four NECESSITIES for having a heart that is blazing for the gospel.
1. You MUST come to a place of being on the brink of despair and hopelessness (i.e. you must walk
the Emmaus Road).
2. Jesus MUST come and meet you on your Emmaus Road and lead you down the Calvary Road (i.e. a deep revelation of the cross).
3. The Holy Spirit MUST sovereignly open the eyes of your heart to see Jesus Christ crucified and risen for you.
4. You MUST share the joy of the gospel with others in order to have fullness of joy.
May the Lord graciously work all four of these necessities in our lives so that we would have a BLAZING heart for the gospel of Jesus Christ!

Title: "Are You Born Again?"
Passage: Galatians 3:10-14
By: Justin Hoover
Jesus said, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God" (John 3:3). Salvation is a gift of God
given to undeserving sinners. God takes our hard heart of stone and gives us a new tender heart of flesh (Ezekiel 36:26). We no longer
reject God but now we take great joy in His Son Jesus Christ. By a miracle of God's grace, we are no longer enemies with God (Romans 5:10) but now we
are His children (Romans 8:14). God loves us so much that He sent His Son, Jesus, to give us forgiveness and the promise of eternal life (John 3:16).
Are you trusting completely in Jesus Christ for forgiveness or are you trusting in your good works? Are you born again by the free, sovereign, joy-filled
grace of God?

Title: "The Valley of Decision"
Passage: Joel 1-3
By: Justin Hoover
The Word of God tells us that there will be a Day when God will judge the world in righteousness (Acts 17:31). The prophet Joel says
that this judgment will take place in the Valley of Decision. God will decide who will inherit eternal life, and who will inherit eternal death.
Joel tells us that we can have assurance of forgivness NOW if we will come to another Valley of Decision; a decision to repent and receive
the forgiveness of Jesus Christ. Have you come to the Valley of Decision? Don't wait. Today is the Day of Salvation (2nd Cor. 6:2).

Title: "Finding Forgiveness At the Feet of Jesus"
Passage: Luke 7:36-50
By: Justin Hoover
Date: May 5th, 2008
God created us to worship. Everyone worships something. Some worship their children, their jobs, their money,
women, the praise of man, or themselves. The problem is that we never seem to find fulfillment in this life. God desires to show us that the deep longs in our heart can only be
filled by Jesus Christ. Heaven will be a place of having our hearts filled with joy as we worship Jesus for all eternity. He alone can satisfy our deepest desires to be filled with passion, purpose, and joy.
In order for us to be filled with the fulness of God we need to be forgiven of our sin and given new life in Christ. We need to repent, receive God's love,
and allow Him to fill us with His Holy Spirit! Will you come to Jesus today, fall at His feet, worship Him for His goodness and mercy, and receive His
filling today?

Title: "Forsaking All For Christ"
Passage: Philippians 3:1-11
By: Justin Hoover
Date: June 1st, 2008
What does God require of you in order to inheret eternal life? If you had to give one answer for why God should let you into the Kingdom of Heaven,
what would you say? In this passage God reveals to us that our good works will never get us into Heaven. Only faith in Jesus can give us
the righteousness God requires. The only answer to give to the questions posed above is, "I have forsaken all other hopes apart from Jesus Christ!"
The apostle Paul says that he "counts all things as loss for the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus (his) Lord" (Philippians 3:8). Is this your attitude
today? Will you die to all other things in order that you might truly live?

Sermon Series from the book of Ruth: "Christ, Our Great Redeemer"
Passage: Ruth 1-4
By: Justin Hoover
Date: March 2nd to March 30th, 2008
Ruth is an amazing story about a foreign woman who finds favor in the eyes of the God of Israel. Her name in Hebrew means "Companion." In the midst of
extreme hardship she forsakes all to be faithful to her mother-in-law Naomi. She leaves her people and her country and infamously says to Naomi, "Your people shall
be my people, and your God shall be my God" (Ruth 1:16). She is truly a woman of virtue (Ruth 3:11). God favors Ruth and Naomi by sending a kinsman-redeemer, Boaz,
who not only rescues her from poverty but also redeems her by marrying her and giving her a son. Miraculously Ruth finds herself in the genealogy of Jesus Christ (Matthew 1:5). Just as
God sent Ruth a redeemer, so He sends us a redeemer who rescues us from our sin and the wrath of God. Listen in as God reveals His amazing plan of redemption,
forgiveness, and favor through the book of Ruth!
